The teas found in your holiday box are some of our most popular winter teas! We've chosen each of these teas not only for their taste, but also for their aromas. During the holiday times our schedules can be busy and can seem overwhelming. Taking the time to slow down and enjoy not only the taste of our tea but also the aromas of our tea is the perfect opportunity to take a break and a refresh.
A refreshing herbal tea, Double Mint Tulsi is a caffeine free blend of peppermint, spearmint, and tulsi. Tulsi is said to help with digestion and is rich in antioxidants making this the ideal tea for bedtime. The blend of peppermint and spearmint in this tea creates an aroma that can both invigorate and calm. A cup or two in the evening is ideal for those times you need a little bit of me time to wind down.
Steep 1/2- 1 teaspoon of this tea in 6-8 oz of water. This herbal tea can be brewed at 212° F for 4-5 minutes.
Looking for a cup of dessert? Look no further. This fragrant blend has a base of sencha green tea from China. To that green tea is added a delightful blend of almonds and coconuts giving this tea an aroma like Chinese almond cookies --or even angel food cake. We often drink this when craving something just a bit sweet.
Steep 1 teaspoon of tea in 6-8 oz of water. Since this is a green tea, you need to steep it at a lower temperature to avoid scalding your leaves and releasing tannins. We suggest brewing at 180°F for 2 minutes.
Apple Cider Herbal Tea is really like a cup of mulled cider in tea form. Although categorized as an herbal tea, this tea isn't based on any herb. Instead, its flavors come from dried apples, elderberries, and sultanas. Added to this interesting base are hibiscus blossoms, cinnamon, almonds, rose hips, and star anise making this a tea unlike any other.
We like to brew this stronger and longer than other teas. One tablespoon of tea to 6-8 ounces of water can be brewed as long as 10-12 minutes at 200-212° F.
